Roma Mia is the brainchild of two Italian-born restaurateurs, Alessandro Massi, and Sergio Torrisi, who have brought their love of Italian cuisine to the heart of downtown San Diego. Together, the two bring a combination of expertise, dedication, and passion to the San Diego Italian restaurant scene.

About Alessandro Massi

Mr. Massi, who will serve as the restaurant’s Executive Chef, brings nearly ten years of professional culinary experience to Roma Mia, all gained in his native Italy where he worked in many high-end establishments throughout the course of his career.

In 2012, he attended the Italian Chef Academy and began his culinary journey that led him to serve as the Sous Chef at several notable Italian restaurants, including Tazio at the Boscolo Hotel in Rome.

In addition to his degree from the Italian Chef Academy, Mr. Massi holds a degree in Business and Management. He is fluent in both Italian and English.

About Sergio Torrisi

A highly successful entrepreneur, Mr. Torrisi has worked within the hospitality industry for nearly 20 years and has established multiple businesses and restaurants over the course of his career. He owned and directed Il Tartarughino in Rome, Italy before coming to the United States.
